Leonoor Beukers is the latest addition to our team in Oslo. She is educated as an industrial design engineer in the Netherlands and has a master diploma in Integrated product design. After working 5 years with product development, the last 3 for inMarket, she moved to Norway for new challenges.

Hareide Design wins Red Dot 2012!

Hareide Design has again won the prestigious Red Dot Award, this time for the Kongsberg Maritime LTU telegraph lever!

Illusion half - New wall version

The Illusion lamp is now available in a brand new version. A wall hanging concept lamp named Illusion half.

The shape and character is the same as the original Illusion lamp we designed for Northern Lighting back in 2010 – only now split in two – and hanging on a wall.

Another new team member: Kajsa!

Kajsa recently joined Hariede Design's Gothenburg studio, after working both in Hong Kong and Belgium. Her passion for Asia she got already in 2004 when she studied a year in Singapore as a part of her master in Industrial Design at the School of Industrial Design in Lund. In Belgium she got in to the world of packaging while working at SCA packaging’s Design and Innovation Centre and left with an addiction to fine Belgium chocolate.

Mathias has joined the team!

Mathias is the latest arrival at Hareide Design. He graduated with a BSc in Product Design from Brunel University in 2001 and has since gained experience at K8 and Luxo. For the last three years he’s been freelancing as HanssonDesign, working with a wide range of products and clients, following development from concept all the way to production. We are happy to have him as a part of our growing team!

SJ 3000 unveiled

SJ has recently presented their new express train SJ3000!

Hareide Design contributed by turning the train’s bistro into a warm and comfortable environment for the customer, and a nice, practical and ergonomic workplace for the staff.

Jøtul wins in court!

The Borgarting Court of Appeal has ruled in favour of Jøtul’s claim that Nordpeis consciously based its Trio 1, 2 and 3 series closely on Jøtul’s F 370-series.

Maritime Design: Challenging Conformity

Hareide Design has been a key contributor in the maritime industry since the beginning of the 21st century. In this article, we share our experience from this adventure. Written by Magne Ekerum Høiby

New IDO/Porsgrund Bad, shower cabin

IDO and Porsgrund Bad has recently released their shower cabin Showerama 8-5. It is created by Hareide Design with a focus on high quality and functionality, and gives a light and luxurious impression with its thin profiles, narrow panel and unique rain shower. To widen the door, the cabin has been given its asymmetric shape. The cabin is also higher than its predecessor to increase the comfort for tall users, and the wheeled feet allow for easy movement of the cabin when cleaning.

Red dot & The Norwegian Design Award

We are very proud to announce that Hareide Design together with Jøtul, once again, has received the prestigious red dot award. It is the small wood stove Jøtul F162/163 that has been selected among the 4433 entries in the product design category.

On top of that, we will today be awarded with two "Merket for god design" by the Norwegian Design Council. One together with Vestre, for the Kyoto line of concrete furniture, and one together with Jøtul for the F470, which also won the red dot award last year.

A new team member!

Frida Torgeby is the latest addition to our team in Gothenburg. Apart from spending five years in a cabin in Åre, she has a lot of experience from the outdoor industry, working with clothes and graphics, which will give us a needed addition to our expertise.

Volvo V60 Plug-in hybrid uncovered

Hareide Design has been involved in the development of the Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid, which was recently released at the Geneva Auto Show. Notable contributions by Hareide Design are the low turbulence rims, combi instrument and battery cover.

QVISION 500 INTERFACE

Hareide Design was hired to create the screen interface to their QVision 500. The product continuously presents data to the user, requiring high readability and ease of use.

"Unge Talenter" 20 years!

Oslo: The design competition Unge Talenter (Young Talents) is celebrating its 20th anniversary. – Several of Norway’s leading designers have started their carriers with Unge Talenter, says Eline Strøm Gundersen of The Norwegian Design Council.

The anniversary is celebrated with an exhibition showing 38 of the best winning projects, which includes Magne Høiby and Sigrun Vik, winners from 2005 and 2010 respectively.

Guest lecture at AHO

Magne Ekerum Høiby, senior designer and partner at Hareide Design, presents K-Master aft bridge; a product development process where industrial design as a strategic tool helped to create a revolution in a conservative industry. The lecture will be held at AHO, 13:00 on February 24th.

Stockholm Furniture Fair 2011

Today is the opening of Stockholm Furniture Fair 2011, and this year Hareide Design is represented with two products. Northern Lighting is exhibiting the lamp Illusion. Together with Vestre, Hareide Design proudly presents the brand new outdoor furniture collection, KYOTO.

Goodbye Moss Hello Oslo

After 10 wonderful years in Moss it´s time to move. This is where it all started. We have lots of great memories, it feels kind of sad, but its time to move on.

Our new office is in Bygdøy Allé 9A. It´s in the heart of Oslo. A great place with a high ceiling (we all love that!) and close to a lot of inspiration you only can find in Oslo. We look forward to meet you all here, maybe with an exciting project, or just for a chat, and a cup or two of freshly brewed coffee. Welcome!

"Illusion" gets attention in London

100% Norway in London last week was lots of fun. Together with the best designers in Norway we had the privilege to show the Lamp we designed for Northern Lighting called "Illusion".

The lamp got a lot of attention and was quite visible amidst all the other great designs from Norway. The event kicked off with a gathering at the Norwegian embassy the evening before. Lots of cool people, great food, wine and music. Great fun!

New website!

What a year this has been! New website, new graphic profile, new offices in Gothenburg and Oslo, this is what you can call a total make over, we like it a lot and we hope you do too!

Glamox Luxo and Hareide Design

The newly merged lighting companies Glamox and Luxo has hired Hareide Design to develop future lighting concepts and products.

Google & BioOffice

Google Norway is using BioOffice!

Google Norway's director Jan Grønbech was interviewed in the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet:

"Since we got BioOffice in May we have experienced that the days become shorter since we aren't as tired in the afternoon. The air in the office is as just as good as in the forest [...] and the plants are lowering the sound levels in the open office space."

K-MASTER nominated for the honours award for design excellence

Hareide Designmill and Kongsberg Maritime is nominated to the Honours Award for Design This award is given to products that clearly distinguish themselves among those who receive the Award for Design Excellence. The award was introduced in 2000, and is the highest design award in Norway.

Valö in traffic

Styrsöbolaget has purchased two Brødrene Aa catamaran ferries for Gothenburg! "Valö" and "Rivö" have already started their routes in the southern part of the archipelago.

2010 is an exciting year for Hareide Design! We celebrate our 10th anniversary; we are launching a new graphic profile, and are an important contributor to MomentumDesign. Participation in MomentumDesign gives Hareide Design a unique opportunity to show the importance of industrial design, the processes involved, and our customer´s products to a wide audience.

iF Gold for Krabat Sheriff

The IF international product design award jury, has selected Krabat Sheriff for the prestigious iF Gold Award 2010!

2,486 products submitted from 39 different countries, competed for the coveted iF product design award. Out of 778 prizewinning products, the jury awards the IF gold award on a total of 50 of the best prizewinners. Krabat Sheriff received the iF gold award, and was able to successfully assert itself in a highly competitive and international environment.

Red Dot Best of the Best for BRC 800

The Berg Propulsion BRC 800 control panel was awarded with the prestigious Red Dot. And not only that, from the 3,231 entries, the BRC 800 was one of the 49 products that also recieved the "Best of the Best" mention.

New Gothenburg office

Hareide Design AB has since may been working in their new studio on Trädgårdsgatan 3, Göteborg.

We are now situated downtown in a freshly renovated loft studio.
